Bianna Golodryga Departs CNN After Nine Years

CNN anchor Bianna Golodryga announced Thursday that she is leaving the network after nine years, a move confirmed by a CNN spokesperson. Golodryga shared the news on X, formerly Twitter, stating, “After nine wonderful years at CNN, I’ve decided to leave for an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up.” She expressed gratitude for her tenure, writing, “I’m grateful for the experiences, friendships and support from fabulous colleagues during my CNN years.”

Her final day at CNN is scheduled for Friday, and she is expected to sign off during her broadcast. Zain Asher, her co-anchor on “One World,” will continue in the anchor role. Golodryga’s departure follows that of Christiane Amanpour, CNN’s chief international anchor, who announced her exit earlier in the week. Amanpour is set to depart the network in June 2027.

These departures come shortly after the completion of Skydance's acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery on October 6. Skydance, led by David Ellison, now oversees CNN and CBS News.

Golodryga, 48, joined CNN as a contributor in 2017. She later became a full-time employee in August 2019 after a stint co-hosting “CBS This Morning.” Since September 2023, she has co-anchored CNN International’s “One World” with Asher and also serves as the network’s senior global affairs analyst. Before her time at CBS, Golodryga worked for Yahoo and as a co-anchor for the weekend edition of ABC’s “Good Morning America.” She began her television career at CNBC in 2001.

Golodryga, who was born in Moldova and came to the U.S. as a Jewish refugee in 1980, is fluent in Russian. Her reporting has included coverage of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the aftermath of the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel. She has also conducted interviews with figures like Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei and co-authored a children’s novel titled “Don’t Feed the Lion” about antisemitism.

Golodryga is married to Peter Orszag, CEO of Lazard and former budget director under the Obama administration. They have two children together. She declined to comment further when reached by The Post.
