Canelo Alvarez, known for his counter-punching style, waits for opportunities to strike and typically avoids unnecessary risks, focusing on accuracy. He is also adept at defense, moving his head to evade opponent's punches. However, Alvarez is 36 years old and is coming off a 13-month layoff, which could potentially impact his performance.
Christian Mbilli, on the other hand, adopts a more aggressive, attacking strategy. He aims to pressure his opponents, often backing them into corners. Mbilli is noted for his ability to throw multiple punches rather than relying on a single strong blow. His training prepares him for fights that go the distance, and he may not tire as easily as some of Alvarez's previous opponents. A potential vulnerability for Mbilli is that his offensive approach can leave him open to counter-attacks.
The method of victory odds indicate that Canelo Alvarez is favored at -330 on the moneyline, with odds of +350 for a KO/TKO/DQ and -135 for a decision. Christian Mbilli is listed at +250 on the moneyline, with +750 for a KO/TKO/DQ and +450 for a decision. The odds for a draw are +1400 for both fighters.
