Bethenny Frankel, 55, has offered a candid perspective on her experience at the 2026 Burning Man Festival, revealing the unglamorous realities of the event held in Nevada's Black Rock Desert. The festival, which began August 30 and concludes September 7, saw Frankel documenting her days via TikTok.

While initial videos showcased a luxurious RV decorated in pink and neon, along with participation in parties and karaoke, Frankel later shared clips highlighting the challenges posed by the desert environment. One video captured her sitting atop her RV as strong winds and dust enveloped her. Dressed in a white pajama set and wearing protective goggles, Frankel appeared dismayed by the blowing sand.

In another clip, she struggled to remain standing against the harsh weather, with accompanying footage showing neighboring RVs caked in dirt. These scenes underscored the difficult conditions faced by the thousands of attendees, including influencers, artists, and partygoers, who gather annually in the desert.

The Burning Man festival has encountered significant disruptions in recent years. In 2025, sandstorms and high winds forced attendees to evacuate campsites shortly after the event began, turning the playa into a difficult clay terrain. The previous year, in 2023, over 70,000 attendees were stranded in mud following heavy rainfall, with notable figures like comedian Chris Rock and music producer Diplo hiking out to find alternative transportation.

The festival has also seen shifts in its demographic, with recent data indicating a growing proportion of attendees in their 40s and 50s, while participation from those in their 20s has declined. This trend has led to criticism from Burning Man co-founder John Law, who has suggested the event has lost its original anarchist spirit and has become an exclusive gathering for the wealthy and the creatives who serve them.
