Bethenny Frankel Fires Back at Andy Cohen Over 'Swipe'
The reality TV star responded to a dismissive comment made by Cohen at Bravo Fan Fest.
Bethenny Frankel has publicly responded to a remark made by Andy Cohen at Bravo Fan Fest, where the television personality was asked about Frankel's potential return to The Real Housewives of New York City.
During a panel at the event on Saturday, Cohen, when indirectly asked if he would bring Frankel back to the show, stated, "I'm not really active on TikTok." This comment was perceived by Frankel as a subtle jab, given her significant presence and commentary on the social media platform regarding Bravo and its executives.
Frankel addressed Cohen's remark in a TikTok video, stating, "He said, 'I'm not really active on TikTok,' which is abundantly clear 'cause he's still sitting in the same place I left him. The only thing that has changed are the ratings." She further contrasted her financial independence with Cohen's role at the network, suggesting he is "bitter" that he lost original cast members who are now on the E! network while he remains with Bravo. Frankel asserted that she and other former cast members are "all over here making our own coin our own way on our own terms."
The exchange occurred at the second Bravo Fan Fest, held at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center in Charleston, South Carolina. Cohen was moderating the "Andy's Housewives History Lesson" panel, which included cast members Porsha Williams, Melissa Gorga, Karen Huger, Shannon Storms Beador, Heather Gay, and Carole Radziwill.
When Radziwill was asked about Frankel's potential return, she deferred to Cohen, stating it was "way above my pay grade" and "Andy’s [decision]." It was at this point that Cohen made the comment that prompted Frankel's response.
This interaction follows Frankel's previous decision not to join the E! spinoff series "The Golden Life" with other former Real Housewives of New York City cast members. Frankel explained in an earlier Instagram video that her current business dealings and partnerships with various brands are not compatible with participation in that genre. She also noted that the financial compensation required for her to return to a Housewives show would likely create resentment among other cast members, a situation she experienced previously. Frankel stated her current priority is protecting her peace and enjoying her current life stage, where she is not beholden to others' schedules or directives.
