Former Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone, 95, has placed his expansive London home on the market for £50 million (approximately $50 million USD). The 11-storey glass-fronted property, located in the upscale Knightsbridge neighborhood, is being handled by estate agents Michael Elliott.

Ecclestone moved out of the building in 2017, the same year he sold Formula One to Liberty Media for £6.4 billion. He stated that he no longer uses the property and sees no need to keep it. "I've many fond memories of the place; it used to be the family home and of course it's where F1 was based for years and we made history there with Grand Prix racing," Ecclestone told the Daily Mail. He added that the penthouse, where he lived with his ex-wife Slavica Radic and their two daughters, Tamara and Petra, has been empty for years.

The property, described in a sales brochure as a "generational opportunity to acquire a trophy family office headquarters," offers views over Hyde Park. It is situated in an exclusive area near high-end retailers and restaurants.

The building spans 15,970 square feet across a lower ground floor, ground floor, and nine upper floors, with a terrace on top and a communal garden. Designed in the 1970s, it features a striking glass facade. The first five floors are configured as office space with a separate entrance and lift, while the top four floors comprise a four-bedroom penthouse. The lower floors are designated for staff accommodation and have their own entrance.

Ecclestone purchased the building in the late 1980s and spent £2 million to remove marble fittings previously installed by arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi. The property served as both his residence and the operational hub for his Formula One empire. Ecclestone described the building as the place where "all the good work we did with Formula One" occurred.

Ecclestone, who has an estimated net worth of £3 billion, currently resides between Switzerland and Portugal. His other properties include a £23 million chalet in Gstaad and a £35 million villa in Portugal. He also owns an £8 million farm in Brazil.

Ecclestone's property portfolio also consists of a £23million chalet in Gstaad, where in 2012, he married his third wife, Brazilian Fabiana Flosi (pictured together, in 2017)

Plans for refurbishment of the London property have been drawn up, but sources indicate limited interest thus far.
