Conor Benn and Ryan Garcia have both made the welterweight limit for their upcoming WBC title fight, a crucial step after significant pre-fight speculation regarding their ability to meet the 10st 7lb (67kg) welterweight threshold.

Benn's return to the welterweight division for the first time in over four years had been a focal point of pre-fight discussions. His previous bouts against Chris Eubank Jr. were contested at middleweight, with Benn weighing 11st 2lb (71kg) for their initial encounter and 11st 5lb (72kg) for the rematch. His April win over Regis Prograis was at 10st 10lb (69kg).

Benn has stated his intention to vacate the title and move back up in weight should he defeat Garcia. He described the weight cut as an arduous process, taking him to the "pits of hell." Despite appearing gaunt during fight week, Benn smiled and appeared in good condition upon making weight, surprising some observers.

Initially, Garcia was not immediately present at the weigh-in after Benn, leading to questions about potential difficulties in meeting the weight limit. Garcia has a history of issues with the scales, having exceeded the light-welterweight limit by over three pounds before his 2024 fight against Devin Haney.

However, Garcia appeared at the weigh-in approximately ten minutes after Benn and also made the limit comfortably, showing no visible strain.
