Ben Stokes has ruled out reversing his decision to retire from international cricket and making a comeback for next summer's Ashes series. The all-rounder's stance comes after England's recent series defeat against New Zealand.
Stokes retired from one-day international cricket in July 2022 and subsequently stepped back from Test cricket in the summer of 2023. His retirement from Test cricket followed England's series loss to New Zealand, a decision he has now affirmed will not be revisited for the highly anticipated Ashes.
The Ashes is a historic Test series played between England and Australia. Stokes' potential return has been a subject of speculation among fans and media, particularly given his significant impact on the England team in previous Ashes campaigns. However, his definitive statement indicates his focus remains on his post-international career endeavors.
