Ella Stiller, 24, shared that her renowned parents, Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor, were taken aback when she landed a substantial role in the new CBS dramedy "Cupertino." The actress, who is a graduate of the Juilliard School with an acting degree, discussed the moment at the series' premiere in New York City late last month.

"I told them I got the part. Both were like, 'Twenty episodes?' There was a little bit of an 'Eff you, are you kidding?'" Ella recounted, as reported by TV Insider. She noted that the procedural format was new territory for her parents.

Despite their initial surprise, Ella emphasized that her parents have been "so supportive" throughout her burgeoning career. "I just feel lucky and really grateful for their understanding and support," she told People last year, describing their strong relationship as "really meaningful."

Stiller and Taylor, both established actors with extensive filmographies, were present at Ella's performances during her time at Juilliard. "My parents were at every single show I did at Juilliard," Ella said. "They understand how hard it is and the joy that comes with it."

"Cupertino," a 20-episode legal drama, also features Mike Colter and Rachel Keller and is slated to premiere on CBS on October 8. The series is set in Silicon Valley and follows a lawyer, played by Colter, who is challenging his former employer over stock options. He teams up with another attorney, portrayed by Keller, to represent those wronged by powerful tech companies.

Ella Stiller is cast as a junior assistant at the law firm. She previously told Bustle that while her parents never directly offered her advice, she gained invaluable insight by observing their dedication. "I had a front-row seat to see how much energy and preparation go into just a single day of work," she stated.

Ella's acting credits include roles in "Happy Gilmore 2," "And Just Like That...," "Driver's Ed," and "The Comeback." She also made her Off-Broadway debut last year in Julia Randall's play "Dilaria."

Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor, who married in 2000, are also parents to son Quinlin, 21. The couple first met in 1999.
