Ben Duncan, a former television personality and university acquaintance of Prince William and Kate Middleton, died by suicide in October, his struggles with depression and financial difficulties having taken a toll.

Duncan, 45, was found dead after falling 100 feet from the rooftop of the Trafalgar St James hotel in London. His death was not entirely unexpected by those who knew him, as he had been battling depression for some time. This decline in his mental health was reportedly exacerbated by the recent deaths of several friends.

Despite projecting an image of a successful socialite with a lucrative property portfolio and connections to the Royal Family, Duncan's estate was valued at just £90,000 after debts were settled. This net sum was left to his mother, a stark contrast to the outward appearance of wealth he maintained.

Duncan befriended Prince William and Kate Middleton while attending St Andrews University between 2001 and 2005. His media career began after an appearance on the reality show Big Brother in 2010. He later appeared on other reality programs and hosted several shows, also working as a commentator on the British Royal Family for international broadcasters.
