Ben Affleck Praises 'Wonderful' Co-Parenting Relationship with Jennifer Garner

Ben Affleck has spoken positively about his co-parenting dynamic with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, describing their relationship as "really wonderful." The couple, who divorced in 2018 after 13 years of marriage, share custody of their three children: Violet, 20, Fin, 17, and Samuel, 14.

In recent comments to Variety, Affleck highlighted that his commitment to his children is a driving force behind his continued work in Hollywood. "I don't want to miss these years. My kids are here, and their life is flying by. I don't want to have to be in Shreveport or New Mexico in order to work," he explained.

Affleck outlined their custody arrangement, stating, "We have dinner if they agree to hang out with me. They're with me for a week, then with their mom for a week." He added that he continues to parent his children, though they sometimes react with skepticism to his relationship advice.

"I'll say, 'You know, well the thing about that relationship there…' and the 17-year-old turns to me and goes, 'Oh, like you're the expert on relationships?'" Affleck recounted on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. He noted that his children often exchange knowing looks, making him feel like a "caricature."

Affleck also mentioned his current wife, Jennifer Lopez, and her positive relationship with his children. In a past interview with Entertainment Tonight, he said, "For the record, Jennifer Lopez is spectacular. Great to my kids, great ongoing relationship with them."

Previously, Affleck and Garner were slated to star together in the film "Animals," portraying a couple with a troubled marriage. However, Garner reportedly declined the role, with Affleck recalling her reasoning: "We don't wanna do that. You just get baggage."

Despite this, Affleck expressed a desire for future collaboration with his ex-wife, stating, "I would love to work with her, frankly. She's fabulous, and we're really good friends, and I'm profoundly grateful to her, and we have a great thing."
