Ben Affleck: Dating Not a Priority Post-Lopez Split
The actor states his focus remains on his children and career.
Two years after his split from Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck has stated that dating is not a significant focus in his life. Affleck, who is also a father to three children, expressed that his career and his family take precedence.
During an interview at the premiere of his new film, "Animals," Affleck told Entertainment Tonight, "There’s not a lot of room. I’m not running around. It’s just not a big priority in my life."
He further elaborated that he is "good and happy" as a single individual, emphasizing his priorities. "You can’t have two things that are the most important in your life," he said. "For me, that’s the kids. So that’s what that is. And then I have my work, which I love."
Affleck also addressed comments made by "The View" co-host Ana Navarro, who suggested she had attempted to set him up with Shakira following his separation from Lopez. "I hear s–t like that, honestly, first from people like you," Affleck responded. "I never heard that in my whole life. People gossip. Stuff gets made up." He firmly stated, "I don’t get set up."
The "Argo" director shares Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Affleck and Garner were married in 2005 and separated in 2015, with their divorce finalized in 2018.
He later married Lopez in 2022, a decade after they were first engaged. Their second marriage, however, ended within two years, with their divorce finalized by January 2025.
Affleck recently shared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" that his children tease him about his relationship history. When he offered relationship advice, one of his children reportedly remarked, "Oh, like you’re the expert on relationships?" Affleck's past relationships have also included notable figures such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Ana de Armas.
