Ben Affleck Admits to 'Expletive-Filled Arguments' with Kids in Fortnite

Ben Affleck, 54, has confessed to engaging in heated, expletive-laden arguments with children while playing the online game Fortnite. The actor shared that his immersion into the popular battle royale game began through his son, who is reportedly obsessed with it.

Affleck, known for his roles in action films and competitive video games like Madden, initially believed his experience would give him an advantage. However, he quickly found himself humbled by the younger players. "Twelve year olds just f*** you up," he stated on the "New Heights" podcast with brothers Travis and Jason Kelce. He recounted instances where he would be eliminated early in the game, only to be taunted by the young players with phrases like, "You suck! F*** you!"

This unexpected competitive frustration would lead Affleck to retort, "F*** you! I don't suck, I'm a grown man!"

Beyond his gaming habits, Affleck also discussed his experiences with social media, admitting he has been banned from Instagram twice for "impersonating myself." He explained that his past accounts were primarily for monitoring his children's online activity, with a minimal follower count consisting of his kids and their friends. Affleck expressed skepticism about the benefits of actors being active on social media, stating, "I think Daniel Day-Lewis and Meryl Streep and Viola Davis and Denzel Washington are brilliant actors. It doesn't help me appreciate their movies to see what they had for lunch."

He suggested that maintaining a sense of illusion is crucial for actors. "I realize I sound like an old, out-of-touch person, but I believe that as an actor, you have to maintain an illusion," he said, reflecting on the value of privacy in an age where personal information is often permanently recorded.

Affleck is currently promoting his new Netflix crime thriller, "Animals." He has three children: Violet, 20; Fin, 17; and Samuel, 14, with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner.
