‘Below Deck’ Star Gael Cameron Shares Domestic Violence Message, Nearly a Year After Ex’s Arrest

Gael Cameron, a star from "Below Deck Mediterranean," has shared a powerful message about her experience as a domestic violence survivor, nearly one year after the arrest of her ex-partner, Nathan Gallagher. Cameron posted an Instagram Reel on Wednesday documenting a visit to the Sweethearts art installation in Sydney, which features 56 hearts, each representing a woman whose life ended due to domestic violence in Australia this year.

"Knowing how close I came to being one of those hearts I cried," Cameron wrote in her Instagram caption, expressing her sorrow not only for the victims and their families but also for those still trapped in abusive situations. Each heart in the installation bore phrases reflecting common justifications or dismissals of domestic abuse, such as "boys will be boys," "she coulda left," and "just a one off."

Gallagher, Cameron's ex-partner and co-star on "Below Deck Mediterranean," was arrested in December 2025 and faced charges including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally choking a person without consent, and common assault. The details of his arrest became public in August.

While Cameron was not initially named in reports of the alleged assault, Gallagher referenced her in a statement to Rolling Stone, acknowledging he had "made mistakes" for which he would "take responsibility." Cameron had previously broken her silence in September, describing her experience as a "tough season" of life and expressing her commitment to healing and rebuilding for herself and their son, Kayden.

In her recent post, Cameron emphasized the need for change, stating, "Something needs to change. Something needs to give. I’ve sat afraid for long enough, but the fear I feel is what allows this to keep happening." She also shared resources for domestic abuse victims and offered a message of hope to those who may not be able to publicly acknowledge their situation.

Both Cameron and Gallagher appeared in the most recent season of "Below Deck Mediterranean." Bravo has since terminated its professional relationship with Gallagher. Captain Sandy Yawn, a fellow "Below Deck" cast member, recently stated that Gallagher has stopped drinking and is seeking help.
