Below Deck Season 13 Premiere Features Yacht Engine Troubles

The new season of Bravo's reality series Below Deck opens with an unexpected mechanical issue that threatens to derail the charter guests' experience before it even begins. In a preview for the Season 13 premiere, Captain Kerry Titheradge and his returning and new crew members are preparing to welcome guests aboard the motor yacht Azul V in Phuket, Thailand.

As the charter guests begin to explore the yacht and settle into their accommodations, the crew faces an immediate hurdle. Captain Titheradge attempts to start the yacht's engine, but it stalls. An exchange over the radio between Titheradge and deckhand Alex Wright reveals the severity of the problem.

"I am not seeing any wash from that, Captain," Wright reports from the deck. Titheradge responds, "We just had our engine stall. We’re starting up again."

Captain Titheradge explains the critical nature of the situation, noting that the yacht uses compressed air to start its engine and has a limited number of attempts per tank. "We only have three starts per tank. If it stalls three times, it’s not starting the fourth time," he states.

With the guests already on board and waiting to embark on their vacation, the crew is under pressure to resolve the engine issue and get the yacht underway. The premiere will reveal whether they can overcome this initial challenge.

The Below Deck Season 13 premiere is scheduled to air on Monday, October 12, at 8 PM ET on Bravo.
