Bunnings has reintroduced its highly sought-after $19 Bluey garden gnomes, a collection that previously sold out rapidly after its release. The popular item is back on shelves with three new character additions: Tony Wearing Glasses, Grandfather, and Obstacle Course, alongside returning fan favorites like Bride and Groom, and French Baker.
The return of the gnomes has generated significant excitement among fans, with many expressing their eagerness to acquire the collectibles. "I need to run," one shopper commented on social media. Another shared, "I'm so happy I found them. I managed to get three of the original gnomes. After missing out when they first came out, I managed to get a few more last night. They make me so happy. Thank you Bunnings."
Fans beyond Australia have voiced strong desires for international shipping. "THE WORLD NEEDS THEM!" exclaimed one, while another pleaded, "Can you supply them to the UK please - I need them all." Similar requests have come from Japan and the USA. Bunnings has responded to these international inquiries, stating, "Unfortunately, we don't offer international shipping. We apologise for the inconvenience."
The Bluey gnomes have previously caused a frenzy, leading to instances where shoppers were unable to purchase them due to immediate sell-outs. To manage demand, Bunnings has implemented a purchase limit of four gnomes per transaction, with six designs currently available.
Justine Mills, Bunnings Director of Marketing & Retail Media, commented on the gnomes' enduring popularity. "Our Bluey gnomes have built a cult following over the years, so we're thrilled to bring them back with some new characters joining the collection," Mills said. "Tony Wearing Glasses and Grandfather have already emerged as early favourites, but choosing just one is easier said than done - we know every gnome has its own loyal fan base."
Last year, the intense demand for the gnomes was highlighted by the experience of Australian podcast host Christian Hull. After struggling to find the gnomes, a Bunnings employee named Alicia set aside the Bride and Groom gnomes for him, an act that brought Hull to tears. He recounted his disbelief and gratitude, crediting Alicia for her exceptional customer service after she held the items for him upon seeing his social media plea. "Are you joking? Oh my god, I'm gonna cry with absolute joy and happiness," Hull said at the time.
