Supermodel Bella Hadid is reportedly spending time with Nathan Lacy, a conservative Christian cowboy from Colorado, after her reported January split from professional equestrian Adan Banuelos. The Daily Mail exclusively revealed Lacy, 38, as the man Hadid was seen with in Milan in February.
Lacy hails from Crested Butte, Colorado, where his family owns Lacy Construction LTD, a company in the ski town. A source described his family as "very Catholic, very conservative and very red," noting they have been in the area for five generations and also own land in Texas. Lacy himself has been a registered Republican since 2009.
Hadid, known for her liberal political views and advocacy for Palestinian rights and LGBTQ+ issues, has had a notable divergence from Lacy's conservative background. She publicly endorsed Joe Biden in the 2020 election and has been a vocal critic of former President Trump and the Israeli government's actions in Gaza. Her father, Mohamed Hadid, is Palestinian, and she has spoken out against what she describes as generational trauma.
Sources indicate that Hadid is taking a measured approach to her new connection. "She does have someone she's hanging out with, but he's just someone she's getting to know," a second source told the Daily Mail. "I think she's just trying to have a companion, she's not trying to get married, she's not trying to make this more than it is." The source added that the breakup with Banuelos "took a lot out of her" and she had planned to refrain from a new relationship for at least a year.
Hadid and Banuelos, who met in late 2023 and reportedly ended their two-year relationship in January, were seen together again in the spring. Following their reported split, Banuelos was arrested for public intoxication in Weatherford, Texas, and released on bond.
Despite their differing political stances, sources suggest a shared interest in ruggedness and an outdoors lifestyle may be a point of connection. An insider described Hadid's type as "the rugged handsome cowboy, outdoors, not impressed with fashion or style. Just a guy." Hadid has been living primarily on her ranch in Fort Worth, Texas, and has participated in equestrian competitions, an area where Lacy's father is also involved.
Representatives for Hadid have been contacted for comment. Whether Lacy becomes Hadid's next serious romantic interest remains to be seen, but sources indicate she currently likes him and he reciprocates the interest.
