Beartooth frontman Caleb Shomo and his wife of 14 years, Fleur Shomo, have filed for divorce. The couple jointly submitted their petition in Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this week, nearly two months after Caleb Shomo publicly came out as gay.
Shomo, 33, revealed his identity in a statement posted on Instagram on May 23. He and Fleur tied the knot in April 2012. They do not share any children.
Following Shomo's announcement, Fleur Shomo expressed her support for her then-husband, stating she would "love and support" him and asking his fans to do the same. "Sending love and support. His statement is powerful," she wrote on X.
Shomo's journey has been marked by personal struggles, including growing up in a religious household and dealing with anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, and substance abuse. After leaving the band Attack Attack!, he formed Beartooth, with their early music often focusing on mental health themes.
In February, Beartooth released a track titled "Free," which Shomo described as "the start of the next chapter of [his] music and [his] life." He elaborated that the song was "the most honest depiction of my soul I will most likely ever make."
Fans responded positively to the song, with many expressing pride in Shomo's openness and personal growth. Beartooth bassist Oshie Bichar has also publicly offered his support to Shomo.
