Bears Legend Otis Wilson Alleges Security Assault at Soldier Field

Chicago Bears icon Otis Wilson has called for an investigation into an alleged assault by stadium security personnel that he and his wife experienced at Soldier Field following the team's victory over the New York Jets on Sunday. Wilson, a member of the 1985 Super Bowl-winning Bears team, stated that he and his wife were "physically assaulted" by private security guards.

The incident reportedly occurred when Wilson, 69, was attempting to access an elevator reserved for media. According to witnesses cited by the Chicago Sun-Times, a scuffle ensued, leaving a significant hole in a nearby wall and resulting in Wilson being placed in a wheelchair.

Wilson released a statement on Monday to present his account of the events. In it, he detailed that his wife was assaulted first by a security guard, and he was subsequently assaulted by two private security contractors. He also reported being taken to a hospital for evaluation before being released.

He is urging the Chicago Park District and its security contractor, Monterrey Security, to preserve all surveillance and body camera footage related to the incident. Wilson is demanding a thorough and transparent investigation to hold those responsible accountable.

Despite the alleged assault, Wilson emphasized that his "relationship with the Chicago Bears and with this city's fans remains as strong as ever." He clarified that the incident "does not reflect the Bears organization or the people of Chicago" but rather the actions of "specific individuals working for a private contractor."
