The Chicago Bears have made a significant move towards Super Bowl contention by acquiring All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons from the Tennessee Titans. The trade signals a major statement of intent from the Bears, who have been actively seeking a marquee defensive acquisition.
Chicago is sending a substantial package to Tennessee, including two first-round NFL Draft picks in 2027 and 2028, along with a fourth-round pick in 2027. In return, the Bears receive Simmons and a fifth-round pick in 2028.
Simmons, who signed a three-year, $105.8 million contract extension with the Titans before the current season, was previously the highest-paid defensive tackle in the NFL. His addition is expected to bolster the Bears' defensive capabilities as they pursue a championship.
The Bears had previously shown interest in other defensive linemen, including DeForest Buckner, who was ultimately traded to the San Francisco 49ers by the Indianapolis Colts.
