A replica of the Batmobile, famously seen in Tim Burton's 1989 film "Batman," experienced an unexpected roadside delay when it suffered a flat tire on a Texas freeway. The vehicle was captured by Houston TranStar cameras on Thursday afternoon on the Gulf Freeway near Webster.

The owner of the Batmobile, identified as Houston ER doctor Abdulla Kudrath, revealed himself in March. Kudrath, who is also an entrepreneur and car collector, stated in early August that he owns one of only two Batmobiles in Texas. He acquired the replica by trading in a Ferrari 458, expressing no regrets.

The car is a tribute to the vehicle from the 1989 "Batman" movie starring Michael Keaton. Kudrath, who grew up in the 1980s, cited the film and its distinctive Batmobile design as a significant childhood inspiration. He described the car's "long sleek curves, super long hood, machine guns that came out, flames shooting out of the back" as captivating.

Kudrath mentioned that the Batmobile was originally built for drag racing but he spent two years modifying it to be road legal. The replica features a custom chassis and a high-performance LS engine producing approximately 1,000 horsepower. He previously described driving the car in his community, using a black mask to obscure his identity, which he felt added a sense of mystery akin to Bruce Wayne.

Beyond its theatrical presence, Kudrath has utilized the Batmobile for charitable endeavors. Earlier this year, he shared content from a children's charity event, describing the importance of supporting not just the physical, but also the mental well-being of children facing illness. He arranged for a young boy named William, who has cancer, to ride in the Batmobile, an experience Kudrath hoped would provide positivity and a memorable moment.

Kudrath's collection includes other notable vehicles, such as a 1969 Mustang from the "John Wick" movies and the Kitt car from "Knight Rider." He finds the Batmobile to be the most impactful, generating significant public excitement and smiles, which he attributes to its representation of nostalgia and its ability to make people happy.
