Two individuals illegally BASE jumped from the Space Needle in Seattle on Friday night, authorities confirmed. The stunt involved scaling the landmark and then leaping off with parachutes.

A video circulating on social media shows two men climbing over the glass barrier of the Space Needle's observation deck before jumping. The pair, reportedly wearing helmets and backpacks, appeared to scale the exterior walls before launching themselves off the structure.

One parachuter landed on the roof of the Hyatt hotel located at 201 5th Avenue. Another individual landed near the Seattle Center, an area that was hosting the Bite of Seattle food festival at the time.

The Space Needle spokesperson stated, "We are aware of an illegal incident at the Seattle Needle and are working closely with the Seattle Police Department. We are reviewing security footage and assisting with the active investigation."

This incident echoes a similar BASE jump that occurred in 2024, where two individuals leaped from the Graystone building, a newly constructed 37-story structure in Seattle. They landed safely before law enforcement could locate them.

Officials have not yet announced whether the individuals involved in the Space Needle stunt have been identified or if any charges will be filed.
