Filming for the highly anticipated Beatles biopic series was suspended for a day after actor Barry Keoghan, cast as Ringo Starr, reportedly had an on-set outburst. The incident occurred earlier this month at Stonewall Park in Kent, where Keoghan, 33, allegedly removed his Ringo earrings, threw them into a bush, and left the filming location. Crew members spent a significant amount of time searching for the lost earrings, which led to the halt in production.
The upcoming biopic consists of four films slated for release in 2028. Keoghan's co-stars in the project include Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon. This incident follows a period where Keoghan retreated from public life due to online criticism and rumors, which he has publicly refuted.
In April, Keoghan stated on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast that he had withdrawn from social media and public events, citing a need to "hide away" from trolling. He specifically addressed and denied claims of infidelity with pop singer Sabrina Carpenter, his former girlfriend from 2023 to 2024.
The Beatles biopic project has faced public scrutiny, with some fans expressing that the actors cast do not bear a strong resemblance to the iconic band members. Keoghan has not yet commented on the on-set incident.
