A life-size cardboard cutout of pop star Taylor Swift was stolen from a Mister Softee ice cream shop in Camarillo, California, on Monday evening. The theft occurred when a man, described as barefoot and wearing a white T-shirt, black joggers, and a black cap, entered the store.
Surveillance video shows the suspect initially visited the Mister Softee with five friends around 8 p.m. After the group left, he returned approximately 20 minutes later. The footage captures him walking barefoot into the store, looking around, and then taking the Taylor Swift standee before exiting around 8:21 p.m. The ice cream shop has requested public assistance to identify the suspect and recover the cutout.
"It is with a heavy heart that we share that our Taylor Swift standee has been stolen from our Camarillo store. If you recognize this guy, let us know," the store posted on its Instagram page. Online commenters have nicknamed the suspect "the barefoot bandit."
The Mister Softee location continues to offer its "Swiftie Swirl" ice cream flavor, a blend of vanilla soft serve with cookie dough and chocolate dip, topped with mini M&Ms, whipped cream, and rainbow sprinkles. The store introduced this special flavor after its truck was spotted near Madison Square Garden in New York.
