Barbara Eden, 95, Makes Public Appearance After Health Scare

Barbara Eden, the 95-year-old star of the classic sitcom "I Dream of Jeannie," was seen out in Los Angeles over the weekend, approximately two months after a health issue led to the cancellation of a planned appearance. Eden was spotted on Saturday attending the Hollywood Show, an autograph and pop culture expo.

The actress appeared in good spirits, dressed in an elegant black outfit complemented by a red jacket draped over her arm. She accessorized with turquoise jewelry, including a necklace and matching earrings, and wore black wedge heels.

Eden had previously withdrawn from an appearance at the Cinecon Classic Film Festival in early September due to what organizers described as a "sudden illness." During that time, her co-star Pat Boone accepted an award on her behalf. However, Eden later took to social media to clarify the situation.

In a statement on Instagram, Eden reassured fans that she was "okay" and that her absence was not due to a serious illness. She explained that a "brand-new medication" prescribed by her doctor had caused "nasty side effects" and discomfort, leading her doctor to order her to rest at home until the issue could be resolved. She characterized the situation as a "speedbump" and expressed confidence in her recovery.

Eden, who celebrated her 95th birthday in August, has had a career in acting and singing that spans over seven decades. "I Dream of Jeannie" aired for five seasons from 1965 to 1970 on NBC, with Eden playing the titular genie alongside Larry Hagman.
