A Bank of America executive was fatally stabbed in Times Square on Monday afternoon in an attack that also injured an elderly man. The suspect, identified as Pamela Cisneros, 49, was subsequently shot and killed by police officers.
The victim, Erin Piacenti, 32, of Chester, New Jersey, was working as a Vice President of Business Selection and Conflicts at Bank of America, according to sources.
Piacenti was attacked near 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue around 4:30 p.m. on August 31, 2026. NYPD Commissioner Jeff Tisch stated the assault was unprovoked.
Earlier, Cisneros had reportedly emerged from the subway on West 41st Street and stabbed a 68-year-old man in the abdomen before proceeding north and fatally stabbing Piacenti.
According to social media posts, Piacenti had recently celebrated her second wedding anniversary on August 10, 2026. She was a 2016 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and a 2021 graduate of Fordham Law School.
After stabbing Piacenti, Cisneros was confronted by police officers. Reports indicate she charged at them, leading to officers discharging their firearms and killing her. Knives were recovered at the scene.
First responders arrived at the scene, but Piacenti could not be saved.
