In Big Bear Valley, California, one of the young bald eagles belonging to parents Jackie and Shadow has experienced an unexpected fall. Sandy, an eaglet, accidentally tumbled from the nest on Sunday, June 29, 2026.
Her sibling, Luna, has successfully fledged, meaning she has left the nest and is capable of flight. The event marks a significant milestone for the young eagles as they transition from their nest, though Sandy's tumble was an unplanned departure. Jackie and Shadow are known residents of the Big Bear Valley eagle habitat.
