Bachelor Star Sam Wood Charged with Domestic Violence Offenses

Sam Wood, known for his appearance on The Bachelor Australia, has been charged with domestic violence offenses including assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation. The incident occurred in Noosa, Queensland, where police responded to reports at a Hastings Street address on Saturday evening.

Wood, 46, was arrested and subsequently refused bail. He is scheduled to appear before Maroochydore Magistrates Court. Police confirmed the charges on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

In a joint statement released Monday morning on social media, Sam and Snezana Wood addressed the situation. "This is a difficult time for all of us, we are working through this as a family and are thoroughly co-operating with the authorities," the statement read.

Wood's arrest took place on the same weekend he had announced a personal "comeback" on Instagram, posting about seeking strength and motivation for the future. The timing suggests the post may have been pre-scheduled.

Wood, a fitness entrepreneur, met his wife Snezana on The Bachelor Australia in 2015. They married in November 2018 and have three children together. They also co-parent Snezana's daughter from a previous relationship. The couple resides in Brighton, Victoria.

Wood built a successful fitness empire, founding the business 28 by Sam Wood, which he sold in 2022 for $71 million. He also owns The Woodshed gym in Melbourne.

Following the news of his arrest and charges, Wood's social media follower count has reportedly seen a significant decrease, with thousands unfollowing him.
