Bachelor Star Sam Wood Charged With Domestic Violence

Sam Wood, known for his role on The Bachelor Australia, has been charged with domestic violence offences after an alleged incident in Noosa, Queensland, on Saturday. Police were called to a Hastings Street address around 9 p.m. following reports of domestic violence.

A police spokesperson stated that a 46-year-old Victorian man was arrested and subsequently charged with assault occasioning bodily harm (domestic violence) and strangulation in a domestic setting.

Wood was reportedly refused bail and is scheduled to appear at Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday.

The arrest occurred over the same weekend that Wood posted a message on Instagram about a "comeback," describing it as "personal" and "an apology to myself." The post, which appeared to be pre-scheduled, discussed gaining strength and motivation from the past for the future.

Wood, a fitness entrepreneur, met his wife Snezana Wood on The Bachelor Australia in 2015. They married in November 2018 and have three children together. Wood also co-parents Snezana's daughter from a previous relationship. The family resides in Brighton, Victoria.

Wood built a significant fitness empire, founded on his Bachelor fame. His training business was sold in 2022 for $71 million, though he retains ownership of The Woodshed gym in Melbourne. In July, Wood faced criticism for his new business venture, OLLO for Women, which entered the weight loss industry. He defended the venture, stating it was created to help individuals struggling with weight loss, rather than solely for profit.
