A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of child neglect following the death of a one-year-old baby girl. Emergency services were called to a residence in Atherstone on Friday morning around 11:50 a.m. after receiving reports of an infant in cardiac arrest.
Paramedics who responded to the scene on Long Street made efforts to save the child, but she was pronounced dead. Following the incident, a man and a woman were taken into custody on suspicion of child neglect.
Warwickshire Police confirmed that two arrests have been made as part of the investigation into the child's death. A police presence remains at the scene, and a partial road closure is in effect on Long Street. Authorities have asked residents for their understanding and encouraged anyone with concerns to speak with officers in the area.
