Baby Born During Harry Potter Screening Has Cinema on Birth Certificate

A baby girl born during a screening of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" has "Cineworld Broughton" listed as her official birthplace on her birth certificate. Elsie Lamb was born at the Cineworld cinema in Broughton, Flintshire, on August 28, approximately 40 to 45 minutes into the film.

Molly, the mother, had attended a midwife appointment earlier that day and went to the cinema with her parents and partner, Alfie. Her labor pains began unexpectedly during the movie. "I thought, 'something doesn't feel right,'" Molly recalled. "It was getting more and more intense and I didn't want anything to go wrong."

Cinema staff, including manager Michelle McClean and team leader Leah Prytherch, assisted in the unexpected delivery. They called emergency services and provided towels and sheets to offer privacy. "The staff at Cineworld and Starbucks were absolutely amazing," Molly said. "They shielded me with towels and sheets so no one could see."

There were no medical professionals present at the exact moment of birth. Molly's mother assisted in receiving the newborn, placing Elsie on Molly's chest. A rapid response paramedic arrived shortly after. Elsie's father, Scott, arrived moments after his daughter's birth, having been unable to reach Molly by phone during the labor.

Molly and Elsie were transported to Wrexham Maelor Hospital in separate ambulances, with Scott accompanying their newborn daughter. Both mother and baby are reported to be doing well, with Elsie described as a "really contented baby."

The family later returned to the Cineworld to express their gratitude to the staff with gifts and a card. They also received four cinema passes, allowing them to return and finish watching the film they missed due to the eventful delivery.
