Awkward Blind Date Features Long Silences and Phone Scrolling

A blind date described as the "most awkward" yet involved long silences, excessive phone scrolling, and wasted food, according to the two individuals who participated.

Taeilan, a recent dance graduate, and Jasdeep, a university student, shared their experiences of a dinner date that failed to spark any romantic connection.

Taeilan, 21, stated that she knew "from the start I wouldn't be seeing her again." She noted that Jasdeep, 25, "made no effort" to engage with her during the date. "He spent most of his time scrolling through his phone," she reported, adding that even the bread basket went largely untouched.

Jasdeep echoed the sentiment of a lackluster evening. "I don't like criticising people, but I didn’t feel Taeilan made much effort with me," he said. He described long silences and a general lack of conversation, leading him to rate the date a brutal 2 out of 10. "There were long silences, mindless phone scrolling and piles of bread that went to waste," he summarized.

Both participants agreed that the date was an uncomfortable experience, with neither feeling a significant connection or desire for a second meeting.
