Autopsy Report Reveals Details in Brutal Stabbing Death of New Jersey Mother
Months after Brooke Hanlon's death, an autopsy confirms sharp force injuries as the cause, while investigators have yet to announce arrests or persons of interest.
An autopsy report has provided new details in the death of Brooke Hanlon, a 35-year-old mother found stabbed inside her Chester, New Jersey, home. The report, conducted by Morris County Medical Examiner Dr. Di Wang on June 7, confirms that "sharp force injuries" were the cause of death, according to a report from NorthJersey.com. The autopsy was performed the day after Hanlon was discovered unresponsive.
Investigators from the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, Prosecutor’s Office, and the local police department were present during the examination. However, as of the report's release, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office has not announced any arrests or identified any persons of interest in the ongoing investigation into Hanlon's death. She is survived by her 1-year-old daughter.
Hanlon's husband, Conor, has publicly denied any involvement in her death. He was reportedly the first to find her unresponsive, according to a 911 call obtained by Fox News Digital. In the call, he can be heard telling the operator, “There’s a laceration” on his wife’s body while the operator provided CPR instructions.
Neighbors on Pottersville Road have indicated that Hanlon has been frequently visiting and spending nights at the Chester home, where he previously split his time between New Jersey and the Boston area. Brooke Hanlon's graduate school friend and former roommate, Jennifer Payne, previously expressed frustration to Fox News Digital regarding the lack of updates from investigators, describing the situation as "confusing, heartbreaking and incredibly frustrating."
Brooke Hanlon's family has stated they have "full and unwavering confidence in the investigative efforts of law enforcement."
