Autopsy Report Released in Killing of New Jersey Mom
The medical examiner's report confirms sharp force injuries as the cause of death, while investigators have yet to announce arrests.
The autopsy report for Brooke Hanlon, a 35-year-old mother from Chester, New Jersey, has been released, confirming that she died from sharp force injuries. The Morris County Prosecutor's Office has not yet announced any arrests or identified persons of interest in connection with her death.
Hanlon was found deceased in her home on Pottersville Road on June 6. The autopsy was conducted by Morris County medical examiner Dr. Di Wang on June 7. The report details the cause of death as "sharp force injuries."
Conor Hanlon, Brooke Hanlon's husband, was the first to discover her body and made the 911 call, according to audio released previously. In the call, he described a "laceration" on his wife's body while a dispatcher provided instructions for CPR.
Months after the incident, neighbors have reported seeing Conor Hanlon returning to the Chester home, where he has reportedly been spending nights. He had previously been dividing his time between Chester and the Boston area, where his family resides.
Brooke Hanlon's family has expressed confidence in the ongoing investigation by law enforcement. Her graduate school friend and former roommate, Jennifer Payne, has spoken about the confusion and frustration over the lack of updates from investigators, describing the case as "so unusual even for a murder."
