Autopsy reports detailing the murder-suicide of an 11-year-old cheerleader and her mother at a Las Vegas hotel on Feb. 15 have been released, shedding light on the disturbing circumstances of their deaths. The bodies of Addilyn Smith and her mother, Tawnia McGeehan, 34, were discovered by Las Vegas police performing a welfare check at the Rio Hotel and Casino.

Investigators found the pair lying side-by-side on a hotel bed, both having sustained fatal gunshot wounds to the head. The reports indicate that the young cheerleader was found with a pillow covering her face, a pillow that bore a bullet hole. Authorities also discovered several handwritten suicide notes penned by McGeehan. One note, taped near the hotel room's entrance, warned, "Call 911 before walking in. Two dead bodies and one is an 11-year-old."

Toxicology results from both individuals revealed the presence of a variety of drugs in their systems at the time of their deaths. Addilyn Smith had quetiapine (an antipsychotic), gabapentin (an anticonvulsant), lorazepam (an anxiety medication), and diphenhydramine (an antihistamine) in her system. Tawnia McGeehan's toxicology report showed the same substances, along with eszopiclone/zopiclone (a sedative), citalopram/escitalopram (an antidepressant), desmethyl loperamide (a metabolite of the anti-diarrhea medication loperamide), and cannabinoids.
