Law enforcement officials are alerting the public to a new online scam targeting individuals searching for information about the missing Nancy Guthrie. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has stated that online posts circulating with QR codes soliciting money for the investigation are fraudulent.
"PCSD will never ask for any money related to this case, or any investigation," Nanos said in an X post. Authorities are urging the public not to send funds to unknown accounts and to report any suspicious posts they encounter. These posts should be ignored and reported to law enforcement.
Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie, has been missing since early February. She was reportedly taken from her home in Tucson, Arizona.
