A woman in Raymond Terrace, New South Wales, Australia, has been charged with kidnapping and assault following an alleged vigilante incident involving an intruder in her shed.
Kylee Barbette Robinson, 52, is accused of discovering a thief in her shed and subsequently attacking the individual with a baseball bat. According to court reports, she then allegedly restrained the intruder with a padlock and chain, demanding he reveal the location of other stolen items. The man reportedly led her to a homeless camp in Boomerang Park, where she is accused of assaulting two additional men with the same baseball bat. The alleged rampage continued as she is said to have smashed the windscreen of a car to retrieve stolen possessions.
Police responded to reports of an assault at Boomerang Park around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 2. Officers were informed that a woman had allegedly attacked a man after encountering him on her nearby property. Paramedics treated a 44-year-old man for facial injuries before he was transported to Maitland Hospital.
Robinson was arrested the following evening, August 3, after attending Raymond Terrace Police Station. She has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, kidnapping with intent to cause actual bodily harm, and being armed with intent to commit an offense. Her bail application was denied, and she remains in custody. She has not yet entered a plea.
The Daily Mail has reported that Robinson is the operations manager for an NDIS service that supports children and adults in the Newcastle and Hunter regions. She reportedly founded the business in 2024 and described herself online as a "dedicated social work professional with over eight years of experience." Her online profile, which has since been removed, also stated she possessed "strong theoretical knowledge and practical expertise" and was known for a "collaborative approach and deep commitment to ethical practice."
The current employment status of Robinson is unclear, and the NDIS service provider has removed all references to her from its website and social media. A staff member declined to comment on the charges.
Robinson is scheduled to return to Newcastle Local Court on September 30.
