Australian Man Who Killed and Ate Dog at Wedding Faces New Uproar Over Puppy Videos

Robby Wirramanda, an Australian man who previously ignited widespread outrage for killing and eating a puppy during his wedding ceremony in Indonesia, is again drawing criticism. Fresh videos have surfaced showing Wirramanda with a new puppy, prompting concern from animal activists who fear the dog may also be destined for consumption. The emergence of these videos coincides with reports suggesting his recent marriage to Rensi Ana, 20, may be experiencing difficulties.

Wirramanda, identified as Robert Knight, 53, killed the dog on the island of West Nusa Tenggara, east of Bali, in an act that was filmed and shared online. The footage depicted the dog's legs tied before Wirramanda beat it to death with a stick, and also included him stabbing a piglet. The videos were later deleted from his wife's Facebook page after they generated significant backlash. Following the incident, Wirramanda appeared to undergo a baptism and a second, Western-style wedding ceremony with his wife.

However, recent video clips have suggested marital tension between the couple. In one video, Ana is seen confronting her husband while recording herself eating, telling him to back off. Wirramanda appears frustrated, repeatedly asking if there is anything he can put in a bag for her. The interaction escalates as he aggressively takes the phone from her hand.

Adding to the concern, Wirramanda has been filmed interacting with new puppies, including one that resembles the dog he killed. A caption attributed to his wife on one video stated, "People who eat animals for breakfast should also have breakfast hehe." Animal protection groups have voiced warnings, with one noting, "He is playing with it to gain its trust... then will kill it the same way."

Wirramanda, originally from Mildura, Victoria, has a criminal history, having been sentenced to six and a half years in prison in 2012 for his involvement in an amphetamine trafficking operation in Melbourne. He has addressed the controversy, posting on social media that false and defamatory information was being circulated about him, and stated he would report further accusations to authorities. He also denied allegations beyond his documented past.

While Wirramanda faces condemnation, some local residents have defended the practice, citing cultural traditions in Sumba where dog meat is consumed. One individual commented, "Back when I was in junior high, I absolutely loved eating dog meat... That said, I still acknowledge the tradition in Sumba; my family does eat it, but we don't kill dogs that guard the house."

Animal Lawyer Indonesia has urged the public to report any suspected animal cruelty. The Daily Mail has contacted Wirramanda for comment.
