Australian Man Arrested for Allegedly Joining ISIS, Distributing Attack Guides

A 65-year-old man has been arrested in Melbourne, Australia, for allegedly joining the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and distributing materials that included guides on how to carry out mass casualty attacks. The man was apprehended at his home in Carlton, an inner suburb of Melbourne, on Wednesday morning.

Counter-terrorism police allege that the man pledged allegiance to ISIS without leaving Australia. He is also accused of acting as an online propagandist for the group. Authorities claim he shared instructions on executing attacks and evading detection, reportedly sending approximately 10,000 files. These alleged materials include videos, images, and messages depicting executions, torture, and other ISIS propaganda.
