An Australian broadcaster's comment about former U.S. President Donald Trump at the World Cup final has gone viral. Claudio Fabiano of Australia's Special Broadcasting Service was caught on a hot mic stating, "They’re going to edit him out of that," as Trump remained on stage with the Spanish team after they received the winner's trophy.

Trump joined FIFA President Gianni Infantino to present the trophy to the Spanish players following their victory. Despite efforts by Infantino to usher him aside, Trump lingered near the celebration, clapping and remaining close to the team as confetti fell. The former president eventually departed the immediate celebration area, a moment typically reserved for the winning athletes.

The clip of Fabiano's remark was shared by the MeidasTouch Network on X, formerly Twitter, and has garnered over 1.2 million views. Following the match, the Spanish men's national soccer team posted a photo on their official X account celebrating their win with the caption, “LOS SUEÑOS SE CUMPLEN,” which translates to “DREAMS DO COME TRUE.” Many critics noted that Trump was not present in the official team photo, with some interpreting it as an intentional edit, though the photo was likely taken after Trump had left the stage.
