Actress Aubrey Plaza has sold the Los Angeles home she shared with her late husband, Jeff Baena, at a financial loss. The sale, which closed Friday, brought in $4.375 million, a figure lower than the $4.7 million the couple paid for the property in October 2022.
The sale follows a challenging year for the property, which was initially listed in September 2025 for $6.5 million, eight months after Baena died by suicide in the home at age 47. The residence experienced multiple price reductions, most recently listed at $5.3 million in May after a previous sale fell through. The deal had collapsed by mid-May, leading to the property being temporarily removed from the market before being relisted on May 21.
This transaction concludes less than two months after Plaza welcomed her first child with boyfriend Chris Abbott, an actor known for his role in "Girls." The infant was born in July, and Plaza had confirmed her pregnancy in April.
The Los Feliz Oaks property, built in 1928, spans 4,064 square feet and features four bedrooms and six bathrooms. The Spanish-style compound includes period details such as stained glass windows and terracotta floors, along with a swimming pool, al fresco living areas, a screening room, a wine cellar, and a state-of-the-art sound system. The kitchen offers an easy indoor-outdoor connection with large glass doors leading to the backyard, and the bathrooms are finished with custom stone and wood accents. One secondary bedroom opens onto a sunroom with a private balcony.
Plaza and Baena purchased the home just over a year after they quietly married, with Plaza confirming their union in May 2021. The couple had been together since 2011 but kept their relationship largely private. They officially separated in September 2024. Baena was found dead in the property on January 3, 2025, with the Los Angeles County Coroner ruling his death a suicide.
Plaza has spoken about her grief, describing the loss as a "giant ocean of awfulness" and a "daily struggle" in a conversation with comedian Amy Poehler on the "Good Hang" podcast in August. She noted that while coping day by day, she felt grateful to be moving through the world and functioning.
Plaza and Abbott, 40, have maintained a relatively low-key relationship, despite working together on the 2019 film "Black Bear" and the Off-Broadway revival of "Danny and the Deep Blue Sea." Plaza first publicly addressed her pregnancy in April on the "Smartless" podcast.
