Asylum Seeker Jailed for Attempted Rape After Claiming 'Micropenis'

Hossein Mohmoudi, 37, was jailed for 11 years and given an extended four-year license period for stalking and attempting to rape a 43-year-old woman.

Mohmoudi followed the woman for approximately three miles from a Christmas party in December 2024, tracking her for nearly an hour before the attack. He was interrupted by a passing cyclist after approximately 27 seconds of the assault. The woman testified that she believed she would have been killed if not for the intervention.

During his trial, Mohmoudi claimed he could not have attempted to rape the woman because he possessed a 'micropenis.' Two doctors were sent to measure his penis size and assess the claim. Consultant urologist Dr. George Fowlis testified that Mohmoudi's penis was 'normal.' Mohmoudi also argued he had a low libido due to obesity, smoking, and depression, a claim contradicted by evidence presented in court.

The court heard that Mohmoudi had been active on a fetish website prior to the attack, which he stated was for practicing English. Judge Sarah-Jane Griffiths dismissed this explanation, stating, "I do not believe for one moment that you were on that site to learn, or improve, your English." The jury was also informed that Mohmoudi had received an email from a sperm bank regarding a donation application.

Mohmoudi arrived in the UK in 2014 after traveling illegally through Turkey, Greece, Germany, and France. While in Germany, he was convicted twice for assault and three times for criminal damage. The judge noted that Mohmoudi had previously terrified another woman by following her home and loitering outside her residence just three months before the attempted rape.

Prosecutor Christiaan Moll also revealed Mohmoudi's history of stalking a barmaid and harassing another woman via repeated emails. Judge Griffiths described Mohmoudi as a "dangerous sexual predator" and stated she had "no doubt you were wandering the streets in the early hours looking to see if there was anyone around you could take advantage of." She added that Mohmoudi had shown "no remorse at all."

The victim stated the attack had caused her severe psychological harm and that she was left with no choice but to take medication to prevent HIV and Hepatitis B due to Mohmoudi denying the attack and thus not being compelled to undergo STD testing. She described the side effects of the medication as a "horrific extension" of the attack and noted that December, once a time she anticipated, now brings on the anniversary of the event before she consciously remembers it.

Mohmoudi will serve two-thirds of his sentence before being eligible for parole. He will be subject to deportation after completing his custodial sentence. Detective Inspector Thomas Meaden of the Metropolitan Police commented that the victim had shown great strength and expressed hope that the outcome provided some justice, calling Mohmoudi a predator who poses a danger to women and girls.
