Astronomers at Ukraine’s Main Astronomical Observatory claim to have detected more than 20 unidentified objects moving near and across the moon in 2025, with some objects estimated to be between 15 and 25 miles in diameter. The findings, detailed in a study that has not yet undergone peer review, suggest the possibility of a technologically advanced, nonhuman civilization.

Researchers identified two categories of objects: 'atmospheric,' which appeared stationary and synchronized with the moon's movement, and 'continental,' which moved across the lunar surface. These objects reportedly displayed unusual changes in brightness and rotation, exhibiting pulsing patterns and, in some cases, flashing in unison, which the scientists suggest could indicate structured, technological behavior.

The study posits that the moon might serve as a base for these unidentified objects, with the researchers arguing that they could reach Earth's atmosphere as Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs) within 20 minutes. However, the study acknowledges a lack of scientific evidence for aliens or artificial structures on the moon. Both NASA and the U.S. government maintain that while some sightings remain unexplained, none have been confirmed to involve extraterrestrial technology.

During two observation periods on September 7, 2025, using a high-speed camera attached to a telescope in Vinarivka, Kyiv region, the main group of over 20 objects was recorded. Additional ring-shaped objects were detected on August 16, 2025. The high-speed camera captured 20 images per second, enabling the tracking of faint objects that appeared as small as a two-by-two-pixel speck against the moon.

Atmospheric objects were noted to remain in place while moving with the moon, suggesting they were anchored near its surface. They emitted rapid flashes at repeating intervals, with two objects appearing hundreds of miles apart flashing simultaneously. The researchers used the reflected light to estimate sizes, calculating that even with maximum reflectivity, some objects could be around 1,440 feet across. If reflecting light like the moon's surface, they could be over a mile wide.

The 'continental' UFOs were described as racing across the lunar surface. One reportedly traveled nearly 14 miles at 4.1 miles per second. Two massive disc-shaped objects were measured at approximately 16 miles and 25 miles across, respectively. Their brightness varied at repeating frequencies, which researchers isolated from atmospheric interference and telescope tracking errors using specialized filtering software.

On August 16, 2025, several large ring-shaped objects were observed in the daytime sky, enhanced with false colors for visibility. These dark objects appeared to absorb nearly all radiation and were estimated to be roughly 22 miles across, moving at 6.8 miles per second. Researchers calculated that these rings could generate centrifugal force more than twice Earth's gravity, suggesting the potential for artificial gravity. The findings, however, are based on the assumption that the faint shapes were genuine objects near the moon and not atmospheric distortions or processing errors. The study has not been peer-reviewed, and its claims of advanced craft remain unconfirmed.
