Ashley Perez, the former wife of golfer Pat Perez, has publicly detailed an alleged incident in 2015 involving golf star Phil Mickelson, claiming he showed her a naked photograph of himself. Perez, who was married to Pat Perez from 2014 to 2023, shared her account with golf outlet Skratch, as reported by the Daily Mail.

In a social media post, Ashley Perez expressed gratitude for public support and vowed to "rise up and stand next to the millions of women who have been silenced to protect the evil and darkness that lurks amongst us." She added, "My heart goes out to the countless other victims."

The alleged encounter occurred during a 2015 tournament week in New Jersey. According to the Skratch report, Mickelson invited the Perez couple to his villa. While Pat Perez was momentarily absent, Ashley Perez claimed Mickelson produced his phone and displayed a full-body image of himself, naked and aroused. She stated that Mickelson then invited her to his room later that night, an advance she declined. She also reported that she did not immediately inform her husband to avoid disrupting the tournament.

When Pat Perez was eventually made aware of the incident, he reportedly confronted Mickelson. The report indicates that Mickelson later apologized during a corporate event.

Mickelson's attorney, Tom Clare, issued a statement criticizing the reporting of the allegations. "A small segment of the golf media has decided that because Mr. Mickelson is a successful golfer, every detail of his private and family life is theirs to exploit," Clare stated. "Recycling mistakes he has already acknowledged as new reporting, and dragging private family matters into public view, is reckless. It is the pursuit of clicks at the expense of the truth. Do better."

This situation arises amid other controversies surrounding Mickelson. Earlier in the month, Golf Digest reported that Mickelson had been removed from The Farms Golf Club in California following allegations of inappropriate physical contact with a female staff member. A representative confirmed he had resigned from the club.

Sources also indicated to Skratch that Mickelson had previously departed two other clubs, The Madison Club and The Bridges, with personal conduct cited as a primary reason. One woman recounted an encounter during the same period where Mickelson allegedly made inappropriate personal inquiries and propositions. A spokeswoman for Mickelson stated that some of the allegations are false, while others refer to past acknowledged mistakes. She emphasized that Mickelson's current priority is his family and a private health matter. "Recovery is not a straight line," the spokeswoman said. "Throughout their 35-year relationship, his wife, Amy Mickelson, has supported Mr. Mickelson and their family with extraordinary grace, unwavering love, and the belief that people are measured not only by their failures, but by what they do to make them right."

Mickelson has not competed since March, citing a private family health matter. He missed the Masters and the PGA Championship, and has withdrawn from the upcoming Open Championship.
