Ashley Biden Threatened Lawsuit Over Claims of Father's Cognitive Decline, Ex-Fundraiser Says

Ashley Biden, daughter of President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, threatened to sue a former Democratic fundraiser over statements made about the President's cognitive abilities and political standing in the 2024 election, according to the fundraiser. Lindy Li, who switched her party affiliation due to concerns about Biden's age, told Fox News Digital that Ashley Biden posted the threat on Instagram in February of last year.

"They wanted to scare me. That was the goal," Li stated. She characterized the threat as one of several attempts to intimidate her after she decided to speak publicly about what she described as fear, disorganization, and secrecy surrounding Biden's re-election campaign.

Li detailed the alleged threat in her book, "Unburdened," writing, "Ashley later threatened to sue me for saying there was a cover-up of her father’s decline, lashing out on Instagram with a bravado so crude it bordered on parody: ‘This woman is a bonavide [sic] liar. Karma is a real bad b----, Lindy,’" and, "‘I don’t know you but can’t wait to meet your a-- in court. Ready for a lawsuit? Let’s go! I won’t put up with this BS anymore.’"

Li provided screenshots of the Instagram post to Fox News Digital, noting it was removed the following day. She found it unusual that Ashley Biden claimed not to know her, as Li had met her on several occasions and shared photographs as proof.

As a former high-profile fundraiser for Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, Li stated she had close ties with major donors and the Democratic National Committee. When she began speaking out about concerns regarding Biden's age, she claims the retaliation was immediate. "When I went on Shannon’s show to say Biden needs to step aside — and three hours later he did — my access immediately vanished and all my fears about speaking up were justified," Li told Fox News Digital. She added that her invitations to the White House, which had been frequent, ceased.

Li recounted that when she discussed Ashley Biden's threat with her legal counsel, her lawyers suggested that the Bidens might wish to avoid a potentially damaging discovery process that could expose more details about the President's cognitive decline.

"My lawyer’s eyes lit up: ‘You want her to use you. The discovery would be incredible,’" Li recalled. "Truth, after all, remains the strongest shield against defamation."

Representatives for Ashley Biden did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
