Artist Akiane Kramarik Recounts Childhood Disappearance and Near-Death Experience
The child prodigy, known for her painting of Jesus at age 8, shared her account of vanishing for seven hours as a child on Sean Hannity's podcast.
Akiane Kramarik, the artist renowned for her painting "Prince of Peace" at age 8, has described a bewildering childhood incident where she disappeared for nearly seven hours, a period she believes was a profound spiritual journey. Her account was shared on the podcast "Hang Out with Sean Hannity."
Kramarik, now 32, recalled an experience where she felt her body "zoomed out" before everything went black. She described seeing her entire family and police searching for her from a high vantage point. This vanishing act caused significant alarm, with her family, neighbors, and local law enforcement launching an extensive search, fearing a potential kidnapping. Kramarik's photograph was reportedly displayed throughout the town during this period.
The incident occurred when Kramarik was 5 years old in Missouri. She stated that her time in what she described as another realm felt longer than the approximately seven hours her parents measured as her absence. During this period, she believes God revealed sights and imparted knowledge to her.
"My parents told me it was about six and a half, seven hours, something like that," Kramarik said. She described the experience as lasting longer than the measured time of her disappearance.
Kramarik's account of this otherworldly experience is one of several spiritual encounters she has spoken about from her childhood. This period was also marked by her prodigious artistic talent. Her painting "Prince of Peace," created at age 8, brought her international recognition.
Kramarik suggested that her profound childhood experience influenced her parents, who had raised her and her siblings in a non-religious household. She stated that the event prompted them to re-evaluate their beliefs.
