Arthur Fery, the British number one contender, has extended an invitation to Prince George and Princess Charlotte to play tennis with him. Fery met the Princess of Wales, Catherine, during the Wimbledon Championships, where she attended the men's singles semi-finals.
Speaking after their interaction, Fery expressed his delight at meeting Catherine and receiving birthday wishes and congratulations on his performance. He also noted that he received a birthday card from the Prince and Princess of Wales.
When asked if he believed Catherine would accept his offer for the children to play tennis, Fery responded with a lighthearted, "Let's see, I don't know. Let's see if I get the call up."
Catherine, who is the patron of the All England Club, presented the trophy to Jannik Sinner after he won the championship for the second consecutive year. Lord Frederick Windsor, his wife Sophie Winkleman, and Lady Gabriella Kingston were among the royal family members present at the men's singles final, which featured Jannik Sinner against Alexander Zverev.
Fery's Wimbledon journey saw him defy expectations. Entering the championships as world number 114 and never having advanced past the second round of a Grand Slam, he reached the semi-finals. Following his performance, he is set to be confirmed as the new British number one and will rise to 36th in the world rankings. He also secured £900,000 in prize money.
