Art Garfunkel Postpones UK Tour Due to Respiratory Infection

Art Garfunkel has postponed his upcoming UK tour dates after contracting a respiratory infection. The 84-year-old singer was scheduled to perform in Watford, Manchester, Wolverhampton, and London later this month as part of his "What a Wonderful World" tour.

Garfunkel expressed his deep disappointment in a statement, saying his "heart is broken" that he must delay the performances. He explained that during rehearsals, he was advised by his doctor to rest and recover after being diagnosed with the infection. He credited his wife, Kim, for insisting he see a physician.

"Singing for you has always been one of the greatest joys of my life, and the thought of disappointing you saddens me deeply," Garfunkel stated. He reassured fans that he is in good hands and expects to recover fully, promising to reschedule the dates as soon as his health allows and venue availability permits.

Ticket holders are advised to keep their tickets, as they will be valid for the new dates. Further information regarding the rescheduled performances will be announced in due course.

This postponement comes after Garfunkel previously shared concerns about the political climate in the United States. Earlier this year, he told The Guardian newspaper that he was considering leaving the U.S. due to his criticisms of the Trump administration's approach to international affairs and climate change. He also voiced strong disapproval of U.S. military operations, specifically mentioning the operation in Venezuela.

Garfunkel, best known for his musical partnership with Paul Simon, has been a prominent figure in music for decades. His "What a Wonderful World" tour was intended to bring his celebrated performances to a UK audience.
