A suspected arson attack on a home in Bootle has left its owner, Holly Cham, facing significant financial and emotional distress. CCTV footage captured the incident, which resulted in extensive damage to the property and the destruction of Cham's home-based business.
Cham, 33, was away with her children when the attack occurred, with her boyfriend staying at the property. He was reportedly in the house at the time of the incident. "My boyfriend could have lost his life," Cham stated, expressing disgust and fear. The incident has instilled terror in the neighborhood, with residents taking turns to keep watch due to safety concerns.
The damage to the property is severe, with the garage losing its roof, windows shattered, and the house suffering smoke damage. Cham estimates that repairs will cost thousands of pounds.
Beyond the property damage, the arson attack has had a devastating impact on Cham's livelihood. She runs a small business from home, and all of her stock and equipment were destroyed in the fire. "I now have to rebuild my business from zero, while losing my only source of income at the same time," she explained, noting that she is now effectively a single parent in terms of income despite having a boyfriend. The incident has left her unable to sleep due to worry.
