ARN Employee Suspended for Moonlighting for Kyle Sandilands' Show
A promotions manager at ARN-owned Wave FM has been suspended following revelations of off-the-clock work for Kyle Sandilands Live.
ARN has suspended Megan Hui, a promotions manager at its Wollongong station Wave FM, after it was discovered she was undertaking off-the-books work for Kyle Sandilands Live. Hui reportedly sent an email to the show's staff discussing new advertising opportunities.
The issue came to light when Executive Producer Jaimee 'Mayo' Blazquez inadvertently displayed the email during a live segment on the show, which was then reported to ARN by a journalist. ARN was reportedly unaware of Hui's outside work, which may violate non-compete clauses common in media contracts.
Hui's suspension comes shortly after she announced on social media that she and her husband, Matty Johnston, are expecting their first child.
Sandilands himself commented on the incident on his show, noting that "someone at another company got suspended because of that." He also alluded to his staff often being former ARN employees, joking about needing to hire more people.
Hui has been with ARN since January 2023, initially working for KIIS FM before moving to Wave FM. During her tenure at KIIS FM, she developed a rapport with Sandilands, sharing a supportive post about him on Instagram after her departure.
