Arizona Democratic Senator Ruben Gallego is reportedly under federal investigation concerning alleged campaign finance violations. The investigation, according to reports from Politico and The Daily Beast, focuses on the senator's use of campaign funds for personal expenses, including luxury trips with his wife and child care costs since he launched his Senate campaign in 2023.

Politico reported that Gallego's leadership political action committee was used to finance family trips to destinations such as Miami, Chicago, Disneyland, and Disney World. These findings were based on a review of campaign finance records and an unnamed source familiar with Gallego's spending. The New York Times also reported that Gallego, in 2025 alone, billed tens of thousands of dollars in flights to his campaign accounts for trips that included his family to vacation spots, with some of these trips coinciding with personal events.

Gallego has addressed the allegations, stating to Politico, "This is not breaking news." He further commented on the rising costs of child care and its impact on family budgets, noting that "Democrats and Republicans in Congress and the White House alike regularly travel with their wives and children, as is permitted by the FEC."

A spokesperson for the senator has suggested that the probe is politically motivated, claiming that President Trump is "targeting" Gallego. The nature and origin of the investigation, particularly its timing and potential political motivations, remain central to the ongoing discussion surrounding the allegations.
